Sisters Already

I never had a sister... but I hear they share clothes. Or fight over clothes. And these two are doing it already.

Bethelle found some skirts I had purchased for Curie and promptly put one on. They are her new favorite clothing item. You can't go wrong when sparkles and ruffles are involved.
I'm ashamed to say how well they fit Bethelle. The skirts are 9 month size. Somebody get this girl a milkshake or two.

Cooking with Preschoolers

Bethelle and I made these great PUMPKIN COOKIES. They were perfect for her to help.
These are great for making with kids because:
1) Sooooo simple. Just a couple ingredients. This suits a short attention span.
2) No eggs. Lick the bowl without guilt or worry.
3) No perfection required. Dump and mix.
4) They're cookies!
5) Does pumpkin count as a vegetable?
The pictured ingredients are all that's required!

Mix together: one box of spice cake mix, one can of pumpkin (15 oz), one cup chocolate chips. I also chose to add 1/2 tsp of pumpkin pie spice. Scoop this out on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Let them cool on the pan for a few minutes, and then on a cooling rack.

Her Young Apprentice

Bethelle has been taking a tap/ballet class recently. She already has a student of her own. Imagine my surprise as I looked up from the computer to see this:
He can often be heard saying, "shu-ffle HOP! step."

I think this picture will be in the slideshow at his wedding reception.

Valentine Hair

You can get instructions here, if you want.

TEETH!

... or I really should say "tooth!"
We've also just recently weened. Sad. This was a forced weening, as Curie would starve otherwise. Her cutting of a tooth is a silver lining on this cloud.

Princess "Art"

I mentioned in the last post that Bethelle loves projects. She generally goes to her art cabinet before she considers toys. From there, she often chooses her "Princess Art"... which really isn't art at all. I just put it there, because I think it belongs with coloring books.
I love that she thinks this is as fun as Play-Doh. She is really getting good at it and is quite independent.
