Pregnancy Update

I wish I had been able to get this pic with a real camera, not a cheap phone.

Today is my 2nd due-date. We had a little miscommunication at the dr office, so we weren't really sure if it was the 22nd or the 26th. And here we are at the 26th. And my belly is still growing.

I was having the most excruciating pains of my life a couple of nights ago. They came on with contractions, but were a separate pain and lasted longer. I went to the dr the next day, and she thinks that the baby is facing the wrong direction. Her head is down (thank goodness!), but she is facing forward instead of toward my back. Contractions then push her into my pelvic bone, which is a bit loose due to the pregnancy, and causes the pain. Babies facing this way cause what is called "back labor". At this visit, my dr asked, "You generally do epidurals, right?" Yup. Then she said, a bit quieter, "Good!" When these pains hit, I really want my epidural already. Fortunately, I had them for two nights in a row, but haven't had them now for a couple days.

I am hoping strongly for an August baby, so that I can put her in the earlier school year (if she's ready, of course). My dr is not available for inductions until Sept 3rd...

So there's the update. I hope to post baby pictures soon. You'll be the first (OK, almost) to know!

Good luck Elke! I hope she comes soon, and I hope it all goes smoothly.

Yeah, I was pretty bummed that the Zofran lost its effectiveness. It was definitely great while it lasted. I'm feeling a lot worse lately and throwing up a lot more. But this is what happened with Paige right before it all went away, so hopefully its the same this time.

Good luck! I'm rooting for you and a healthy baby! I get back labor. It stinks. Especially when you have an hour and a half ride to the hospital. lol.

Here's to a baby TODAY. :)

Good luck hon! And thanks for the update - Janson has actually been asking how you're doing (awww). I'll keep my fingers crossed for an August baby for you - you've still got five more days!

Oh, I feel for you. I had back labor with my Kylee, and I also had an epidural, but it happened not to take. So I felt it all, and yes, it was the most excrusiating pain. It didn't help that my labor was very long, but in the end I think I was blessed for all the pain, because I have the best baby. She is jsut so happy, and barley complains, and has slept 8 hours through the night since 6 weeks. Hopefully it will all go well for you and the epidural takes!

August birthdays are the BEST! There are not other holidays in the month to overshadow your special day. Hope everything goes well with the baby and the house!!

One or more of my babies has presented that way too! With Max the Dr. stuck her hand in around his head and flipped him around...don't ask how that was accomplished, I'm just not sure. I was thankfully, anesthetized (word??) by then! I'm watching the calendar and your blog...can't wait for her to arrive. Hoping with you she comes sooner rather than later!

Good luck! I feel your pain though, Bryce was in that same position. My pelvic bone actually separated it was pretty horrible feeling. I found out this time though that you can have it adjusted at the chiropractor and had to do that a couple of times. It's a painful procedure, but well worth it, it lasted about a month each time.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe you are already here, at the end of it all! Back labor IS aweful, I had it with Olivia - which is why she got stuck in the birth canal for hours, but I was stupid and didn't get an epidural until way too late - as soon as I did my body was able to relax enough for her to make her escape! Good on you for just going and getting one in the beginning! I hope this little one is nice to you and turns around on her own! I can't wait to hear the birth anouncement! Love ya,
Sara xx
