Farewell to Five

Five is almost over.  She is getting so much older.  What is a mom to do?  I can't seem to slow her down.  Being six means first grade.  FULL DAY!  I don't know if I can live without her like that.  But she has earned it.  She can swim a bit without arm floaties and she occasionally cleans her room without me asking.  It doesn't get much better!

What do you think of this hair?  Too weird?
I walked into the room and found her just like this.  She looks 11 to me.  It's all happening too fast.
This video is just of Bethelle washing her face, but there's a priceless moment about 40 seconds in.  It's worth watching.  If you're like me, you'll watch those couple seconds about a thousand times.  They are classic, lovable Bethelle seconds.

When did her hair get so dark? She does look very grown up in that picture, she's going to be a knock out! (just like her mama :) Before you know it, she and Olivia will be roommates at BYU!
And I know what you mean about watching video clips over and over. Sometimes it's the mundane, every-day activities that really show their personalities. I definitely spend way too much time watching some of our home videos over and over! It's a mama thing.

There is a wonderful AA Milne poem about being six. I'd type it out, but you probably have access to it. Or maybe it's something Bethel can look up at the library.
It's called "now that I'm six."
Whenever anyone asks my mom how old she is, she answers, "Six."
