The Tortoise, the Hare, and Bethelle

Bethelle was in a sweet little play at her school.  I love the way that they do it.  A traveling company comes through with one adult actor, a director, and all the props and sets.  The kids get to participate in a play of much higher quality than they would if the school had to put it on, with all of the other thousands of things that the school is responsible for.  The practice like crazy after school for one whirlwind week with the big production Friday evening.

The story was of the Tortoise and the Hare, with some extra twists.  Bethelle is in the middle of the picture below.  Ahh.  Reminds me of me.  The shortest girl in any room.
Isn't she adorable?  Curly was the "hare" in the story, and she was a part of his fan club.
Here's the whole cast, with her at front right.  We had several friends in the play, so it was fun to watch them all perform.  The whole play was really well done, especially considering that they had auditions, practice, memorized lines, and even the performance in just five evenings.
